Massage Therapy
I have been a Massage Therapist for over 10 years now. It certainly has been a journey of infinite possibilities. The unfolding of the body is a never ending pleasure for me. I studied Massage in London Ontario Canada and became a Massage Therapist in 1995. I continue to study ways to unlock the body from all the twists and turns we seems to put it through. Below is a more medical explanation for what massage can do. For those who like the significance… enjoy!!
Massage is one of the most ancient approaches to healing the body.
Touch has always been a medium that fosters nurturing and caring. Babies flourish when touched throughout their growth. Both children and adults benefit through touch. It allows our nervous system to function appropriately to the situations we encounter. The ability to stay calm and relaxed is a learned behaviour.
Through massage it has been proven that adults and children learn how to deal with stressful situations and more easily return to a relaxed state once the stress is removed.
Moreover, adults who have regular massage treatments are more alert, efficient and happier people. They enjoy life with more zest and joy.
The Benefits of Massage:
- Decreased muscle tension and its associated pain and discomfort
- Increases circulation
- Relaxes the nervous system
- Increases Energy
- Boosts the immune system
- Allows you to identify pain and tension before it becomes a problem
- Creates a sense of well-being and peace in the mind and body, allowing you to slow down and enjoy all aspects of life.
